Hey. I heard this was a good radio, so I'm trying to pick one up on ebay for 8 bucks. Anyways, I was wondering if modifying the capacitors on teh radio helps improve sound IF using a super mini as the amp... Wouldn't this remedy the need for modifying the radio for better quality?

How does using an amp affect the "antenna"

According to Dr Xin Feng, the SONY SRF-S84 radio is the one that mates well with an amp. Don't use the SRF-59 with an amp! It does NOT work very well!!!

What makes it more suitable for listening with an amp? Do I have to do that hack with the tiny wire on the plug? My interconnect is only 9" long, so it wouldn't make a good antenna would it?
