Hi All,
 
I have been using Cowon J3 for 3 years with many IEMS (Senheiser 300ii, Soundmagic e30 , Brainwavz 30 )and I am pretty satisfied with it but has become very boring.So,have decided to go with Sony Walkman F886 DAP.Just wanna know if the player is worth it ??I mean is the Hi-Res Audio as advertised by Sony is the real deal going forward or jus a gimmick ?? And really confused between F805 and F886 ??
 
PS:Not an audiophile,so please be less technical .

I have the Sony E465 and I found it a good value for the audio quality.

I've recently bought F886. The sound is really awesome! Very airy, good bass and soundstage. Best Sony player sound wise ever.
However, there are some issues with it:
- battery very weak (it last for me ~ 7 hours without wifi on with normal flac files)
- the volume will not blow you away - it's good for me, but certainly it could be louder.
 
In every other aspect it is an awesome device, better sounding than, for example FiiO X3.
 
Also it will sound exactly the same as top of the line and much more expensive Sony player ZX1. The only difference is that ZX1 has more storage capacity 128 G vs 32 G of F886.

I'm using Sennheiser IE80 for mobile and Momentum for office / home. For me it sounds very good with both, but I still prefer the Momentum over IE80.
 
How is the battery life on your device? How did you import it? From amazon jp?

I het like 10 hrs tops without wifi ..I listen to mp3 mostly..320 kbps ones..

My friend coming from Malaysia got it for me.

Hi new to the forum. Looking into getting a good DAP for gym and riding as currently using my Samsung galaxy note 4 (UK Edition)
know if the sony nwz f885, f886 or f887 is coming to the UK anytime soon as i can find it anywhere? :/
