Well, the Sony S is a noticeable step down from the A series, basically because the material changes from metal to plastic. That said, it's probably one of the nicer plastic electronics I've used. The A series though, felt phenomenal in the hand. Apart from my Canon G9 camera, I've never felt anything so reassuringly solid.

Stumbled across this thread when looking for reviews on these products.  Sony NWZ-A846 and the A847 are now available as a UK exclusive on Amp3 (here)!  Pretty neat products and a great launch deal with them.

I quite fancy a new Sony but at £219/£299 for a 32g/64g seems quite steep to me
