Hi, I have compared my s705 and a1000, both are sony's mp3 player. I found the a1000's sound quality is much better than s705's. Another thing I don't feel good is the noise-cancelling makes the music sound unclearly, so I never use it. = = However, the s700 series have a better battery life, and they are small, good looking, and very easy to use. I bought the s705 just because it was cheap, cost me about 129CAD.
