Just wondering if anyone knows how to convert a nw-hd5 to a cf player, and/or if it's possible. I'm pretty sure since the hd on it is 50 pin, then it would be simple because (correct me if i'm wrong) cf cards are 50 pin.

Help?

You'd probably need to procure an adapter similar to the ones used when CF modding 4th-generation iPods.

While this is interesting it'd be easier to just pop another, larger 1.8" drive in the device. If you're gunna have a player that physically large, you might as well take advantage of its size and stuff a big ol' hard drive inside.

Good point, however my intention was not to create something super portable (even though the hd5 is quite compact and portable i must say), but to create a player that will not get damaged internally easily like a HD. This player would retain the superb SQ of the sony nw-hd5 so that's my main concern.
