Investing in mini players when Sony itself provides one of the best sounding mp3 players out there, just isnt worth it. Mini players have the disadvantage of using SonicStage which is Sony own software for loading music into the player. I had trouble loading music into the player without crashing (having the latest operating system & other requirements).
With the Z it's just drag and drop and easy to use.
Also you can play around with the Z more for sound to your liking (enhancing bass, customizing eq etc.).

For me the sound of the Z is perfect to their older discmans.

In the long run, I dont see any profit if you were to sell the mini players.

thanks for the reply, actually the only thing that makes me consider them is the design (especially the hd1!) i will probably just purchase them and see if i like them, if not i will probably sell them at the price i bought it :)
