I just got my Sony NE520 today along with my Etymotic Er6's... I was going crazy with anticepation until I got it all powered and plugged in..I put a Schubert disc in.. followed by many other genres. I max the volume out on the Sony and I'm coming nowhere near the volume I would like. I plug the Ety's into an amped source and it's another world... What's the deal with this CD player? Is it extremely weak? Is it having trouble driving the Ety's? The stock ear buds seem to play plenty loud...
Should I buy an amp? Are there portable players with plenty of power, stock?
