There's never any deals on the canadian side, so don't wait and enjoy now! Beside we pay the same price as the US retail price but in CAD, so it's actually cheaper for us!
Yeah! fellow quebecois!! i'm in Montreal.
True, we're boned with deals. but i mean it is pricey dude, on amazon it's $899.00 Canadian plus qst+gst :frowning2:... $1,035.00
At that price, Audeze headphones are competing (LCD2C or LCD2 Closed)

Personally I do think it's was worth it! I've been enjoying it for a few months now, no regrets!

Hmm.. i'm very tempted. i'm also currently looking at the new B&O H9(Gen3) and the Blue Sadie.
The Sony Z7M2 will never leave my bedroom. they'll be used only with my RME(for pc) and my PS4 for films+gaming(but mostly films).

not sure if you tried the other two headphones i mentioned?

No, I'm coming from the 1am2!
I did too! Except I wasn’t digging the Z7M2. Especially in comparison to the 1AM2. I ended up picking up an OG Z7 used just last week. Which I adore! Hearing the original Z7 now has me curious again about the Z7M2. Not so much that I’d buy another one but I do wish I had one for comparisons sake. I just remember it sounding too distant to me.

How would I be able to determine which of the two Z7s is better for me?

How important is bass to you? Is it the most important thing to you? If yes, get the Z7.

Bass quantity maybe? I don’t have any issues with the MK2 bass when the materials call for it. The Z7 MKi bass is always there though and it bleeds into the midrange as well. I really enjoy the MKII over the MKI and I have both.

I would agree with this. I would go so far as to call the Z7 a bass cannon type headphone. Which means it’s very FUN! To me anyway.

I found myself wishing the Z7M2 had more of it.

Get the Z1R...you will absolutely love them if the Z7 sound sig is for you.

I bought the Z7M2 Bcos it was on offer (USD400). Personally, USD500 is my mental limit for this unit. At USD899, I'd personally would've bought a Ether CX. (I sorta prefer the "planar" sound). I was comparing the Z7M2 against the Z1R and the outlet owners own Verum One and Aeon Flow. I liked Verum One the best. I took the Z7M2 Bcos it is closed and there's a long wait list on the Verum. I disliked the original Z7 btw. I didnt mind the Z1r (on offer at USD1500) , but some of my songs sounded "off" thru it.

Do the M2s have less soundstage than the original? Listening to the test from Bert's video it seems to be less. I've seen the video before and even after listening to it a few times now I still can't decide which one I like better.
Would the sound signature of the MDR-1A be more akin to the Z7?
