I've owned the XD100s, and they aren't any better. My friend has a pair of the UR20s and from both I can probably say the UR20s are better, but not by very much as both phones are not that great. I'd seriously look to ATLEAST get the XD200s, they have MUCH better sound.

[Edit] Oh, I see you can get HD201s, out of the three choices those would be the winner.

I've owned the UR18 and they were bloody aweful, worst cans I've ever used. I have the XD100's now as a cheapy to get me by and they are a little better but not by much. I might try modding them just for the heck of it.

Koss R/10, R/80, or UR29 if you want Koss closed in that $ range. The first two are 60 ohm and the UR29 is 100 ohm, similar to the UR30 I have.
