Sony MDR EX70 in Hi-fi+ magazine

I have never heard the Sony EX70's, but I have never read an audio magazine that did not like the product they were reviewing. I guess there is too much at stake with advertising to say that such and such sucks or doesn't sound good.

I have ety 4s, mx500, sony e888 and Ex70. out of them, ex70 was the lousiest. Bloated bass and siiiiibilance is all I hear until i tried the mods on it. reduces the bass and sibilance so that the mids are brought out.

and I use them for noisy places because the 888 and mx500 are not insolating enough and etys being too expensive. they are fine enough for this purpose.

I believed the earbuds that came with the mr100 panasonic md recorder were actually damn good for their basic earphone stuff, it's a pity they couldn't handle much power otherwise it would've been alot better. As for sony earbuds that come with their equipment... they've started to pick up their act little but their older ones are absolutely TERRIBLE. And so are these ex70's, they'll sound their best on any sony portable equipment almost, if you call the muddy bass and sharp(I cant stress this word enough for these earknives) highs "best"... I'm just assuming here, but chances are Sony paid that reviewer to write that stuff up cause Sony knows most knowledgeable (about audio anyway) people hate those earbuds, what better way to advertise than in a hifi mag

The one I had was Panasonic SJ-MJ30 portable minidisc player.
So, dunno about mr100.
I've used 'em once. Couldn't deal with tinny sound. the best thing I could say was 'at least it made sound'. They gave me headache.

I'm sure Stax, Audio Technica, Pioneer and even Sony. Do make very good quality headphones.. for sony you'd have to pay alot to get anything good out of them, but I guess thats the same with every company.

yes my CD780's do have a certain air of crapola around them... damn earpads I wanted to take em off to see what's under them and the stupid thing tore on the left headphone... I mean honestly these things are supposed to be removeable they could at least design to it withstand the removing process...

other than that everything except the highs are good... they're way too sharp
