Hi Guys,

I searched around before posting this but couldn't find relevant info (only threads on cable mods) so here goes:

My portable rig is usually an iPhone > Fiio E12 > DT-150, but I recently bought a Sony MDR 7506: the aim was to have a set-up that would fit in my pocket (no need for an amp) and that wasn't as darn hot for the summer months.

I knew that the 7506 wouldn't be as good as the DT-150, and I also knew that the highs were a little harsh when I bought them.

I was thinking that maybe a little mod could tone down the very highs. Does anybody know how this can be achieved? I'm thinking maybe a little cork padding could help. I would appreciate any input from confirmed modders (I'm a newbie with 2 left hands)

Thanks in advance,

Nick

I don't have the answer for you.

But perhaps someone in the DIY Forum would: http://www.head-fi.org/f/6/diy-do-it-yourself-discussions

Oh, yes.

Just follow my tutorial:

You'll need to use your computer as your source, though...

If you want to take things to the next level, these guides could help:

Some parametric equalizers are compatible with your iPhone. All you would need are the EQ settings. The aforementioned resources hold the key, but finding it and unlocking the door may be challenging.

Best of luck!
