Hey guys, I'm new to the community, and this is my first post/comment (besides 2 on a review).

I've been wondering, which one would be better overall, the Sony MDR-1R or the Amperior? I listen to classical, pop, jpop, and soft rock. Pretty much anything that isn't rap (don't hate it, but I get headaches). I won't be taking the pair out of the house much at all, unless it's a vacation. I do need closed phones for isolation/leaking. I've been playing the violin for about 9 years now, so I'm not sure how that would change the perception of sound, since everyone here describes sounds being bright. This will be my first time getting headphones that are over $30. I've had a pair of Philips SHL9500s in the past. I had them until the left cord snapped. The pair that I've been using for the past 2-3 years is the JVC HA-X750. My speakers are Yamaha YSTM8s. I've also had the Sony MDR-E829v for quite some time, although I rarely use them. If someone could respond, it would be great!
