Sony HMP-A1

Just saw these video/audio player. Does it support MP3? Or it need to convert to ATRAC. - any opinions?

Right on the page you linked to it says: "Native Support for MP3 format without the need to transcode songs into the Sony's ATRAC format"

If we're looking at the same item: Doesn't it run Windows XP? If so, you could put whatever software you want on, be it iTunes or WinAmp.

I think "CPU Pentium 800MHz
Windows 2000 Professional SP4 or Above
Windows XP Home Edition SP1 or Above " are the system requirements. I really can't imagine this thing running a Pentium (III probably) 800MHz processor.

Aydn, that doesn't make any sense [I think you need to re-read].

Anyway, this thing is an audio and video/image player. It's not a small laptop. It doesn't have Windows XP, nor a 800mhz processor. The specs were miswritten on that site and apparently no one has taken the time to say anything about it [is this a common trend towards threads concerning Sony's proprietary devices - misinformation is allowed to rule?]
