Hi All,

I am interested in the Sony earphones mentioned in the title.

Some models:

http://20cheaddatebase.web.fc2.com/SONY/MDR-M66.html
http://20cheaddatebase.web.fc2.com/SONY/MDR-M77.html
http://20cheaddatebase.web.fc2.com/SONY/MDR-CD6.html
http://20cheaddatebase.web.fc2.com/SONY/MDR-CD7.html
http://20cheaddatebase.web.fc2.com/SONY/MDR-62.html
http://20cheaddatebase.web.fc2.com/SONY/MDR-94.html

Basically I call out everyone who know/knew them, if I should serch for these beautiful pieces of art for their sound or not,
whether they could/still can produce sound that is at the same or even higher level than their counterparts today. Please tell me your
ideas, experiences, opinions if you know these series. If you have a spare one, you can sell it to me as well ;-)

To justify this thread: in Hungary, where I live, you can sometimes come across a nice set of earbuds, but these series are completely
unknown, I have not had the opportunity to listen to them, not one but before I invest (even if I actually can find one) I would like to know
if they are worth it.
Please forgive me if there are such threads, I have not found any recent discussion.
Thanks in advance for your help

CD series should be the best. I have an old CD666 and it is a great little can esp. since I put larger Senn pads on them. Only paid $18 for it though.

Here is a cool little post(at least for the good pics)...http://www.stereo2go.com/topic/unreal-sound-sony-mdr-cd-5-pro-digital-monitor

Nice one :) You were very lucky with that price, I think the CD666's price today is rather x10 :) - if they are even present at an auction site.
That should be built with the illustric diamond diaphragm design. Though my aim is a bit different, the CD666 must be a nice set of earphones. :)

Still share the family traits like the 'For digital" scheme, the venting and metal plug...

I believe, IIRC, the CD666 have the evaporated titanium coated drivers.

nofarewell, glad to see you on this post lol :gs1000smile: We talked yesterday.

I found the MDR CD-666 yesterday and bought them and htey are in the mail. I don't see this ever being sold, and I think the CD-666 is the titanium drivers. Do you know the frequency response? Can't find on the Japanese database, and there are 10 results on Google at times.

I think its really time to start a Youtube channel.

Think they are 5-27,000 on the F.R. You will probably want to change the pads.
