As I have learned, the MX500 can reproduce bass, though not very loudly. At a given volume level, it's not the bass that's recessed - but the mids, especially the lower mids.

Well that's not what I'm hearing, to me the mids are the strongest and not recessed. As for lower mids I guess it depends on where you draw the line between mids and bass since what you consider to be lower mids might be what I think is the entry into bass.

It really does depend what you use the EX70s with...

E10 & EQ + EX70s = good for public transport...

SRF-M95 radio and EX70s = good sound generally
