I am currently running SR325i through a Pimeta amp from chaintech AV710. My source file formats are all ape, flac, and ogg. I have just recently dug out some of my PCDP players

I need some opinon on the Sony E805 vs D-121 vs SL-SX500 vs AV710. which reign supreme? (line-out only, since I run all through the pimeta)

Shameless reply, I have the E805 and yes, I like it.
Compared to my NAD xyz CDP and other players I had (Sonys ES, ...) it plays pretty airy and transparent, and that´s what I like about it most. It also feeds my super.fis nicely, I just wouldn´t use it with a Senn. AFAIR it received excellent reviews from hifi magazines in Germany when it came out all those years ago.
The only thing that p...s me off are those beeps via phone connector whenever you press any of the buttons, but there´s no beep from the line out.
I´d recommend it, but still ask myself what might be the best CD portable around.

To remove the beeps, I believe that you hold down stop whilst putting the batteries in...

Just an AFAIR... not a definite, but its something like that
