Looking for a new DAP to replace my budget X1 and was looking at sony DAPs when i noticed that they have these "sound enhancing" features : ClearAudio+, Clear Bass, DSEE HX, Dynamic Normalizer, Equaliser (5 band), Surround Sound ........ etc.

Question is...... are they any good or do they make things worse ?

From Google:
ClearAudio+ is a special sound field that detects a music tract that the user is currently playing, then selects the best sound field to deliver the best possible sound listening experience. Hence, you may hear a different sound effect whenever a tract with a different audio format is played.

Dynamic Normalizer

Play audio with the volume automatically adjusted to the same level when music tracks or audio with different volume levels are played.

and DSEE HX "upscaling" just sounds like adding sound filters and dithering to lossy  formats to me

What do you guys think?
