I am having a Sony D-E555 Discman shipped to me, but it does not come with a remote control, so I need a replacement. That made me wonder whether the situation is like with the Sharp portable MD players (some remote controls are compatible with several players). With my Sharp 722 PMDP, I'm using a stick-type control, which is way better than the original round one. Sorry, there are no model numbers on them.
On German Ebay, I found an auction in which the seller claims that the Sony RM-MZ35 will work with many portable Sony CD and MD players.

Does anybody know which remote controls I might be able to use with the D-E555? We could start a list of remote controls / player compatibility.
Right now, there is no search function. Maybe this has been discussed before?

I have a D-E551, which shares the same manual as the 555. See http://www.iq.sony.com/srvs/sosdocs/...rc=sonysupport for the manual.

RM-DM32EL, which came with the D-E885, works with it, except the backlight doesn't operate. And RM-DM29 (from the D-E805) is another that works (no display on this one).

Remotes intended for Sony's Minidisc players do NOT work with these CD players.

Thank you Earwax, I'll hunt for these.

BTW, I found a piece of information that might help someone:
The Sony RM-MC33L seems to be compatible with the D-CJ01, D-EJ1000, and D-EJ855 discmen and a whole lot of MD players/recorders.
