I just got a Sony D-V8000 today.
Here are some pics of it.
I really haven't had time to mess with it much.
I thought somebody might have used one before and maybe they could post some thoughts on it.

That's an interesting look for a model, at least for a Sony model...doesn't remind me of any others that I've seen, and I haven't heard of that model number either. Was that made for the US market, or for an overseas market (i.e. Japan)? How old is it? How does it sound with higher-impedance 'phones?

;]

edit: Never mind...I thought it was a regular pcdp...until I bothered to do a search and also look more closely at the 'video' on the cover of the unit. But, I suppose it plays regular CDs as well (else you might not have posted it here), in which case my questions may be valid anyhow.

akar,

Way to go on this somewhat unusual PCDP purchase, just two questions though... 1, how does it sound?

and two... is the player hollow? on the second picture, by the spindle motor section, is an area of green that looks the same shade as your background (to me at least) ~ or is that part of the PCB?

Thanks

The section of green you see is a pcb.

I haven't able to use it yet to find out how it sounds.
I have been working too much.

Hopefully I will get some time off in a couple days so I can play with it.
