I just picked up a Sony D-NE300 for $2.00 at a yard sale on the way to the gym. It's in very good condition, with the exception of a Gary the snail (from Spongebob) sticker on the lid.

I know this is a good deal, because $2.00 doesn't even buy my cup of coffee in the morning, but - is this a good player? It will be mated with a Cmoy, Cardas IC, and my Koss KSC75's w/75ohm adapter.

Thoughts? Opinions (other than telling me I suck for finding it)?

Not quite. It's got a gray lid with a chromed rim and an orange screen.

for $2 it is definitely a good deal. great for the gym or on the go with it's esp and looks like MP3 capability, but i wouldn't use it for any critical listening. i'd leave the amp at home and run straight out of the headphone out.

One of the best sounding budget mp3 cd players out there right now.. I've got one as well and used it heavily for a year although it became somewhat dated last september when I picked up the ipod.

Great CD player though - survived a 8 foot fall from my lofted dorm bed and kept on kicking. Sells for about 50 bucks retail if I remember right.
