Sent the Sony D-E705 to service center this morning. They called me up now and told me the problem is the lens. The parts and labor would cost $35 usd. Is it worth it? Or i'll just get me a brand new player like the EJ761 ($87) or NE300 ($101) or probably panasonic ct490 which is $60 usd only.

So is it worth reviving the D-E705 for $35 usd? Thanks.

I'd say the 705 would be louder, but I have no idea about the panasonic. I think the 707 is different (maybe), but I love it, so I'd fix it, plus 35 is cheap for sony.

It has been repaired already. Sound quality is sweet and volume goes pretty loud too. Thanks for the reply.
