Sony budget earphone discussion thread (MH750, MH755, MH1C, EX300, etc)

I'd try the needle trick. Use a small enough one and the hole will seal enough for sound but allow pressure equalization.
I tried poking 7! holes with the fattest needle I could find.. it didn't help 😭 The silicone is so thick and elastic, it just seals all the holes and doesn't help with air pressure at all..(
There is a guaranteed option, but it’s not for the faint of heart. It involves disassembling the shell and removing the drivers and very carefully modding the shells without damaging anything.
I'm not such a pro :frowning2:

it's a straight 3.5mm jack MH750 hehe

FF to 58s

hahaha that's what I have been telling everyone for the last 2 years about the new versions..but nah..they just shrug and replied "FAKES" :) and many straight 3.5 mm MH750 have been relegated to the dustbins by a lot of deaf or dumb naysayers :astonished: :deadhorse:

@brianforever can you list down confirmed variations of MH755/750s with its identifiers/or images if you have the free time to do it, I wanna inform a fellow acquaintance

Haha @captione , its not easy to list all TYPEs & H/W Variants, (I believe there are 5 TYPES) as many are bundled and only attainable with a Sony Bluetooth Module or with an Xperia mobile phone
I have a total of 15 units left, mostly MH750 and a rare few 2013 Orange Earptips MH755 & Fakes for A/B Testing and out of all that, Sadly I only own 3 different Types which I appended below :

1. MH755 AG-503 - MFG 2013 13WK27 - 2013 Week 27
2. MH750 AG-501 - MFG 2017 17WK42 - 2017 Week 42
3. MH750 AG-500 - MFG 2015 15WK52 - 2015 Week 52

Thank you man!
I really needed the reference there was this Chinese seller on Shopee that sold MH755s, and it had the solder dots, off centre vent, black mesh with 8 outer and 1 hole in the driver, which is an older, supposedly rare 2013 variant right? The seller had a thousand of those white orange tipped variants along with a more crapton of black fakes on the listing:
https://shopee.ph/product/164845808/2646696999?smtt=0.0.9
and this sparked a discourse over a post where someone compared to the bundled SBH MH755s to those seller's variants.

Omy .. I went thru the feedback photos posted by the users..and they looked fake, he could have a mixed bag of sorts..but the solder dots and finally the sound signature is the best way to iD authentic real deals

Yup, so many fakes now, the sound signature is then way to identify the genuine ones.

I have a pair of those bought at the shop I mentioned and they're really those 2013 MH755 orange tip* variants with black mesh, identifiers and all.
The signature from bottom to top is really good prominent sub bass, goes more leaner from mid bass down to the mids and very present on upper mids, with a nice sparkle and a sense of good clarity and separation from those veery upper mid-lower treble performance. That's basically a harman right lol

Also new update about the identifiers on the sellers "503" variant:
FB_IMG_1594141742999.jpg

It reads "AG-0603". Dang these OEMS are getting more confusing to identify, maybe a re-release/new production based on the 503s perhaps?

Mate, sorry there's no such Model TYPE AG-603 as far as I know , thats a fake misprint for sure

but I don't discount the fact, that some traders reuse old parts to form the whole and if your drivers have the solder dots, they could be a reconditioned unit

@captione may you do us a favour & pop the shells to see the insides Please ? :)

Yep they have the solder dots. What does reconditioned mean though. Like a refurb or something?
I checked the off centre vent with light inspection, the vent isn't fake as there's light shining in the hole

sometimes ..Mfg contractors retain the parts needed to form the whole, but does not inform the client ..and years later they appear in a pariah format not entirely "original" but hey if the drivers are genuine its still all good mate :) ..

Anyway this seller is quite dubious as I can see inconsistencies in the packaging and also the labeling seems off and other factors as he is selling a lot and there's a lot of photos for investigative studying :)

e.g Similar to what they are doing with OEM MX500 drivers..Great Drivers in the DIY market
