Just did a test fit since I have a pair of those MMCX connectors. They kinda fit. You will need to glue or epoxy them in place. The nut takes up too much room and the driver hits it before you can pop them back together.

Here's another comparison pic.

Did a quick fit check on the fake black housings. Plus it let me check panda schemes, which doesn't look as good as I had hoped.

So I ended up doing the same thing and making my own black MH755 w/MMCX connectors.

Wow, thanks! This is very helpful, I guess I'll just glue it shut

Hi all. I can't do soldering so I was wondering what the ideal audio extension cable length for the 755 would be, assuming that the original cable is 60/80cm on each side. I am guessing that 1m would be too long while 50cm might be a tiny bit short for over the ear use (but still the better option).

Hey guys, got a quick question about modding the MH755.

Here he says to make sure the vent on the driver is aligned to the top. When I first opened up my MH755, the vents were aligned to the bottom on both sides. So I'm unsure which is it, or if it matters at all.

From a technical standpoint, it does not matter what direction the vent is facing.

From an ergonomic standpoint, it is recommended to make sure the vent is facing up. The reason for this recommendation is because with the vent facing up, there is no chance for it to be blocked. If the vent is facing another direction, it is theoretically possible for some part of the outer ear anatomy to block the vent (which will change the sound).

Therefore, it is best to make sure the vent is facing up when putting the shell back together.

The vent he is talking about in the video and asked about in the above post is the driver vent :). Not the external vent which can be blocked by ear anatomy...

The external vent will always be up if worn cable down, since it is part of the rear half of the shell.

At least I'd not recommend buying the SBH24 set just to be shure to get some original drivers. If my purchase is no counterfeit of the whole set, Sony might have altered the included headset to the shown 'round vent' drivers for some reason.

Now I know their slight differences, I'd personally always go for the 'oval vent' ones, which were also shown earlier in this thread to be the legit/origin MH-755.

'Round vent':

'Oval vent':
@eqsOne imho I believe they are both original sony drivers in the MH750/755 just different batches - centred round vent - MFG 2015/6/7/8 specifically made as a bundle for the Sony Xperia Series of mobile phones till 2018..and thanks to @eqsOne findings with his SBH24 bundled MH755 - 19W03 - 2019 Week 03, Sony is still continuing to manufacture the MH750/755 series of IEM, which in a way is great news :)

And from what I have discovered. -most sold in the wild, comes with the off centered.oval vent, and has a MFG date of 2013, which is strange that they only had the whole batch made for 1 year alone in a large bulk manufacturing

But hey did you do a sound test for both ? are they different sounding? please share more information regarding their sound signatures Thanks ! :)

Hi Mates,

Some updates, after a whole day of A/B sound testing with both White MH750 - Batches 1549 - 2015 Week 49 and Black MH750 Batches 1742 2017 Week 42, both shares the same driver..with a somewhat similar sound signature as described by @TheVortex Reviews's Youtube review of the MH750 and MH755..MH750 with type: AG-0500/1, with a slightly elevated mid/sub bass compared to the MH755 type: AG-0503 which I figured out after, and I totally agree with Vortex too from his excellent review and comparison video, and after a bit of digging too, it seems all the MH755 with the off-center oval vent has MFG dates 13XX - 2013 Week XX, with type: AG-0503 or most of what I have discovered on the internet
