Sony budget earphone discussion thread (MH750, MH755, MH1C, EX300, etc)

I went ahead and MMCX-ified my MH750s. The little internal plastic nubbins that poke out from the back of the shells made soldering the wires onto the connectors trickier compared to the MH755. I got sloppy and melted one of the plastic shells by quite a bit, enough so that the shells wouldn't snap back together--at least not without shaving the plastic down from the inside...You can see the "handiwork" below ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The silicone tips I'm using are ones bundled with the RHA MA650. Any other recommended tips out there?

I got my first pair of the MH750 today and it has the Made In [space space space] China text on the tag.

The nozzle filters have the small central white circle, different to the common fake ones that are large and white.

The drivers have what appears to be solder dots but they're different to the ones I've seen on genuine MH755s.

From what I can tell by listening to them, they seem genuine. They're very similar to my MH755s.

I just checked my 15w37 and it has the same 2 space before china. And mine is 100% not fake. So typing error also applies to genuine. My nozzle filter is also the same like yours.

I guess if goes to show you that popping them open and checking the driver is still the only way to know for sure.

Once the counterfeiters start doing that, we’re totally screwed :frowning2:

Maybe by that time they'll get so good that it will also sound the same 😂

Doubt that would happen with counterfeiters..best fakes I have seen are the ones with real Air vents, will never see solder dots to reinforce the drivers and reduce vibrations, as that's an expensive manufacturing process that is hard to follow, especially when they are sold so cheaply to begin with.

I bought the EX15 at ...€15 as my iem were lost
They sounded excellent for the price.

Could you be kind to pop open the shells to take a look-see :) IMHO doesn't sound anywhere close to the MH Series, hope you manage to snag some to make a comparison, to truly understand what I mean, and why everyone is raving so much about them :) ..

I was searching for another pair of MH750 since I love the sound of it, livelier than MH755 and just need to tone down a little bass and 3k band. Found some original 2012 pairs when Sony was still Sony Ericsson and funnily they also have the same space typo.

I got the MH-750, they're real! Wasn't actually able to confirm the solder thing right at the post office because I didn't bring any tools, so it was kind of a gamble. Also scuffed the vent a bit, trying to pry it open with a needle, oops. Now to test if they're worth the hype. :L3000:
Sorry for a bad quality photo.

Do you have any better/clearer/closer photos? It’s hard to tell from the photo you posted, but it doesn’t look quite right...
