Sony Acquiring Audeze!

The only way this could be bad for fans of Audeze is if they're forced to shift a bunch of resources meant for audiophile and professional projects over to the gaming line.
IIRC, other than its gaming headsets, most of Audeze's headphones sells for $800 or more. That's higher than the price of PlayStation consoles. Seems likely to me that Sony Interactive will indeed shift Audeze resources away from the high end audiophile products to make more lower priced mass market gear.

No idea on what area of Head-Fi to post this, but literally, the title! 🤯🎧🎮
My first knowledge was via Geoff Keighley (The Game Awards) on his Twitter X account here.

On related news, the brand new Sony PlayStation 5 headphone accessories, Pulse Explorer wireless earphones, and Pulse Elite wireless headset, both use planar magnetic drivers.
Please take a look at PlayStation 5 blog post here.

I saw and read the news alongside the PlayStation Remote accessory Portal, but wondered who made the drivers. Although not confirmed, it's very likely Audeze crafted the drivers for Sony!

Interestingly, the earphones, Pulse Explorer, are the more expensive of the headphones.
Similarly, the Pulse Elite uses a charging contact on the inside of the middle of the headband, to be used with the included charger/stand.

Prices are as follows:

- Pulse Explore: 199.99 USD | 219.99 EURO | 199.99 GBP | 29,980 YEN
- Pulse Elite: 149.99 USD | 149.99 EURO | 129.99 GBP | 18,980 YEN

Discuss! 😃

Im just hoping Sony's resource and manufacturing actually can create a lower cost but stil audeze flagship class headphones.
I mean, Sony's flagship headphones itself are never build and packaged badly, both aspect always punching way above their weight in their price point.
Honestly, 4K usd flagship are nuts and am hoping people get more sane if there's a clear respective winners in 500-2000 usd range.
