I've had a pair of older Sony phones with a removable cable (3.5mm on both ends, 'tis at work so I don't have the model to hand), unfortunatly the connector on the headphone end has been worn down by many years of regular wearing (used to have it on my backup with the cable kept in a pocket).
I dissassembled them and used a jewellers screwdriver to attempt to give a bit of spring back to the connector, but that only helped for about two weeks, any sugestions on other things to try?
