Hi guys I am in the process of buying this player on the cheap, can anyone give be any brief reviews or opinions on the player?

It's a great player if you can get it on the cheap. Went to listen to it in a hifi shop demo up against a Shanling T100 and a Musical Fidelity X-Ray V3 which are both in the 1000-1500 UKP price range and we all preferred the Sonneteer.
It had a hint of the Shanling's warmth which gave realistic timbre to stringed instruments for instance but was much more capable of rocking out with stuff like the Pixies where the Shanling just got confused.
At the same time it was less clinical and thin sounding than the MF which is a pretty nice player on it's own terms.

I heard the Byron vs an Exposure 3010 - overall I found it a bit muddy sounding and I preferred the Exposure. I think you can do better for the money.
