Hi
I may be teaching my grandmother to suck eggs but since this caused me several hours of fustration I am posting it here so that it turns up on a search if anyone else gets the problem.
Sonicstage 1.5 has a CDDB feature and when you try and use it for the first time it pops up a little registration routine that he have to fill in to get CDDB to work. No matter how many times I filled the thing in it kept erroring saying that it could not contact the CDDB server. Also the drop down boxes for Country etc were broken (as in no countries to pick). Upgrading to the latest SonicStage had no effect.
I finally found that the trick is to ignore the automatic registration and manually select it by going to "options" in the SonicStage menu (bottom left of the screen), then clicking "Get CD info" and "CDDB2" and finally "Register" in the pane that will appear on the right. This kicks off the same registartion routine as before but now it works ....
