Hi, I currently own the Takstar Pro 80 but the pleather pads have basically scraped off and the coiled cable is a nuisance. I wanted to try a more open headphone and so far my choices are either the hi2050 or a somic headphone. Now the problem is that I don't know how the somics directly compare to each other. I've narrowed it down to the MH463, mm185 and mm163. From my understanding the mm185 are an upgraded version of the efi-82 mt and the mm163 is more like a closed back version of the mh463. I've been leaning more towards the mm185 because it has a straight cable, but I'm unsure how they stack up against each other. I'm basically looking for a bit more bass and instrument separation than on the Pro 80. My budget is around 50-60$.
Appreciate any info :)

I really doubt you going to find other headphones that noticeably out perform the Pro 80s (or improve over the Pro 80 in the way you want), until you spend at least $150.
I would say to get the Gemini HSR-1000 ($45)
