I'm at the stage of upgrading my PC set up and have started narrowing down the options. I'm a huge fan of my Ety 6i's and am looking for something that has similar sparkle. *Yes, I own a pair of Grado SR60's and am happy with them, but still looking for something more comfy*

I've been looking at the Audio Technica line, particularly the AD-900/1000. The posts I've been reading are very favourable on both comfort, and thier sparkle and speed.

Now top of my list a while ago was the Sony MDR SA1000, but I've had a look on Amazon and I can see that I can pick up an SA 5000 for a little over what I can get an AD1000 for here in Singapore. With a trip to the USA on the cards next month, I'm wondering if the Sony would be the better choice. I remember listening to a Qualia a few years back when I was in Tokyo and I know that sound is right up my alley.

Any comments from users familiar with both sets of cans?
