I currently have this in my amp, the first working dyno-bias buffer from phil, current impressions so far, improved midrange detailed, those wanting more vocals-lovin will love this buffer, more detail across the board, more balance and controlled sound, when AB'ing the old vs new, the rmaa numbers seem to post almost exactly the same other the other buffer, but the biasing affects the phones enough to keep those numbers rock-solid with every phone we've tried with it, with improvements on each which ive just mentioned, in one word everything sounds: TIGHTER.

Dynamically Biasing is something more expensive amps like mark levinsons and halcro amps are doing. So Basically this buffer optimizes itself on the fly to both low or high impedence cans instantly.

Phil's explanation of his implementation of this technology:

This is the latest addition to the PPA amp, dynobias diamond buffer. They are still a prototype, coming soon....TBA....

BTW, sorry but we are not groupies, we are just really grateful guys, with Phil, he deserves it, and IMO a lot more.......he is IMO, one of the more knowledgeable, nice, and cooperative, members of the DIY community of this forum, he never refuses to help, or answer any question, from anybody, and had helped so many members here, that is really hard to ignore his contribution to the DIY community in general....

If you want to call us someway, just say we are the "beta testers" (some kind of guinea pigs....)

for the LaRocco audio. Why? Simply we trust Phil blindly, he had gained our faith and confidence with his work.......one thing you will have for sure, if we approach Phil, and follow his last steps closely, is just because we trust him, and like his designs and products.....

Sov, I wasn't trying to make any derogatory comment about you and xtreme! Just that you guys always have the latest products from LaRocco first! The rest of us are jealous!!!

I completely agree with you, Phil & Larry have give so much to the DIY community, there is no way we could ever pay them back. I will be buying a diamond buffer soon to help support their business...but now I think I will wait until the dyno-buffer is available!

I've got my DynoBias buffer (blackgated to boot!) up and running and she purrs like a TIGER! Well....what I mean to say is, it sounds freakin' good! I totally agree with the above comments on it's sound...tighter overall, smoother, more detail, an expanded soundstage....all in all, wonderful goodness.

Sorry, if you misunderstood me, but I didn't take it that way neither, Jason......I just wanted to clear the "terminology" used....LOL....Sorry but as you, I'm a rocker, and the term "groupies" usually is applied to a group of girls screaming after their vain idol, and we are more than fanboys and groupies, we are loyal supporters, and not only in the audio side of life, also in the personal life, I consider Phil a real nice person, and a friend. We also test Phil ideas, and we take our risks of course, if something get screwed, we ended screwing something ourselves, but that is our contribution to the DIY community....LOL.....but at the end most of the times it's worth the hassle....the sound you get is so rewarding....!!!!! In my case, and in xtremes i think, we have made a monster with just a fraction of what any other would spent, DIY is a nice way of getting real bang for the bucks.....

that'd be the standard buffer, dyno is not out yet, you shoud BG the standard with some fat caps to get that low-end and midrange 1000uf, hehe.

i get to beta test gear because i dont live too far away, and ive been friends with them since about the time the ppa was still a prototype, not even out yet.

EDIT : mistake he does have it. awesome, right on, im not alone on this then.

Actually, I do in fact have a blackgated dynobias. It specifically says dynobias on the board, and is dated 8/9/04. AND ppl himself told me that myself and "exyreme" (I assume he meant you) are the only two people with them right now.

Sounds good don't it?
