I disagree with you because someone on amazon said "1.) The soundstage isn't very good."

The sound stage of the EVO is very good, but I would say that people need to remove the black felt that's inside the EVO, othewise, it doesn't sound crisp.

Here's a long thread on it:

I'm glad I bought the EVO.  one benefit is that it has a socket where if you accidentally yank on the cord, the cord comes off instead of damaging the headset.  I would say this alone is a requirement for me.

Forget about HD681, if you are listening to classical music.
The HD681 has some emphasise on 3-4 kHz, that doesn't make the classical music sound better.
Go HD668B instead.

i agree the HD668b along with the HD660 & new 681EVO, hard to beat right out of the box for the cash, but the original 681 has it's following, it has one of the widest frequency range of any headphone, very raw sound, not produced or ear tickling at all, but does have a low frequency that the 668b does not, and for music outside the pop/rock mid heavy arena, such as orchestral, pipe-organ, it preforms well when you want to hear what other cans are not telling you. also find it great for setting up a mix, maybe it tricks your ears so your mix starts out more even (Flat). Even thou i am using the EVO more,  but still like the original 681 just the way it is, seems to peel the clothes off your music. Cheers Doyen
