I'm currently using a pair of CX500's in white, these are starting to get a bit grubby and people are desperate to think of things to get me for Christmas... enter new earphones!
I listen to Oldskool Hardcore most of the time with some drum n bass etc thrown in for good measure every now and then. This basically means bass heavy dance music with few vocals, fairly high speed with loads going on quite often. 'The Light' on here for example: http://www.discogs.com/Crazee-M-The-Light/release/237146 or 'We Rock The Most' on here: http://www.discogs.com/DJ-Trax-1-Man-1-DJ/master/367 (I could give thousands more suggestions!)
In addition to the CX500's I'm currently using I've also had:
CX300 - decent, but broke on me
VModa Bass Freq - seriously heavy, build quality and comfort not as decent as CX range but yeah, HEAVY!
Goldring (200s perhaps?) - I didn't like these one bit, they were not comforatble and they lacked any kind of punch, I have them stashed away somewhere
Sony, I forget which model, this is going back years, the ones with the funny bit sticking out
I've got a budget of probably around £40 or so, based on the fact I've managed to get all of the above for well under that I'm after something better.
As I said above, a very heavy bass is an essential, I know a lot of people don't like this and criticise the CX300s etc for being too heavy and muddy, I like this and it suits my filthy music!
What would you suggest I consider? - I'm based in the UK so something readily available here.
Cheers in advance
