$60 is a bit much, since I don't listen that often; it's not entirely worth it.. But I while check out 'canalphones' or 'in-ear phones' at the stores.

The web store I was looking has Senn MX450 and Senn MX550. The MX550 is 50% more expensive than the MX450 ($20 en $30). Are the MX550's worth that?
O yes, the MX550's have an asymmetric cord too. Are those things more comfortable to use?

Thx! Do those fit in the price class of <$35?

P.S: Any others (especially Sony's) aren't interesting?

i got the koss ksc75's from amazon for $15, and they sound great. Definitely a great deal.

senn 450 vs 550: extra $10 for the 550? probably not worth it, but i havent listened to either. i'll let someone who actually has them tell you about that.

For your price range, these are the two (three) I would consider most. After that it depends on your listening environment and preference. I think the koss's sound better overall, but theyre not as good for noisy environments.

I've no experience with the newer MXx50 models. I do know that with the older MXx00, the only difference between the MX400 and MX500 was that the MX500 had in-line volume control (which was reputedly pretty useless). Personally, earbuds at this end of price spectrum can only sound so good, so I'd go with the cheaper MX450.

I don't know what they cost in Europe, but here in the U.S. - PX100, PortaPro = $40, Koss KSC-35/75 = $30/$15. If you're a fan of behind-the-head, street-style phones, there's also the KSC-55 ($20).

I had a Carbon as recently as December and it didn't have one either. Maybe it's "new" since then? Not sure how interested I'd be in one anyway. Much prefer the pocket or belt clip but that's just me.

Probably more expensive here in Europe :|
That's why I bought the Carbon from my friend... but it seems he didn't bring fine headphones.

So anyway... Senn MX450 it is. Does this mean buds are better than cans?

No, not here. I've only experienced the KSC-35 (will probably be getting the PX100 soon), but I'm quite sure all of the headphones I mentioned sound better than the MX buds. The trade-off is that none of them are as small and convenient as the earbud style. It all depends on what type of form factor you want.
