Hi all! It's my first post on the forum! Also i'm italian so sorry for my bad english.
 
I just found them in amazon for 120euro (discount in italy) and i decided to purchase them, but compared to my previous set was the sennheiser pc 360 (which i think they are just 598 with a microphone) they sound worse.
 
For amp/dac i use my audio card: Asus Xonar Essence STX.
 
So i was thinking... if I ship them back and i take the sennheiser hd 650 for 324euro I will be happy with the upgrade? I listen to electro/dubstep/drum and base mostly 60%  and  nu metal/metal/rock/pop 40% I don't like very much jazz, classic, rap, ipop and other genres.
 
I have a budget of 500euro. But it's really worth it to upgrade my pc360? or I will not hear any difference at all?
 
edit: So my friend with the dt 990 pro told me to hear: Daft punk - Get Lucky... and wow! The beyerdynamic totally destroyed my old pc 360 on this song. 
 
I won't send him back, but I also want something better if possible.

What "sounds bad"? Can you explain in detail?

Is the Senn 360 a closed headphone? Are you missing the bass in the 990? Then send it back and get the 770s. Or go all out and get the MMX 300. I am VERY happy with it. I got the 600Ohm version. Very nice sound with well controlled bass. For gaming I EQ out some bass so my head doesn't explode sniping and on grenades.

The senn 360 is an open headset. No not missing the bass... the bass on the dt 990 is better than the pc 360, but the vocal and other thing are just worse in my opinion.
 
The senn pc 360 is more balanced and clear imho.

If you really want a clear upgrade from your senns, you are hitting a wall of diminishing returns. Ten you have to spend something north of 300euro's at least.
What exactly do you want from your headphones, an allround upgrade or something more specific?

an allround upgrade if possible.

I'd say that calls for a HE-400 and a bit extra amplification. The only downside with this headphone is that some badly recorded music will be 'not that pleasant' to listen to.

Wow this one of my top problem with this headphone... i don't like it at all >_>.

It is all a matter of taste and what you like. Because a headphone is technically superior to another, you cannot know which one you like the most before you have tried it. The HE-400 is surely technically superior.
 
If you want a neutral version of the dt-990, you could get the dt-880.
 
Also, what about a closed headphone for taking with you, that could compliment your pc360? Or maybe one of the more expensive models from sennheiser like the HD-600/650?

I'm not sure it will suit the genres you hear, actually. I forgot to think about that when I recommended the hd600/650's. It would be nice if others could chime in

600 and 650 are open, not closed if that is an issue. The 600 is more subdued than the 598.   I don't have a recommendation per se. 
 
By the way your English is better than many of us who don't have an excuse since it is our primary language.

I am also wondering if it is worth it for you to get a much better headphone, since the genres you listed could suggest that you don't listen to music with a high production quality, but I might be wrong?
