Hey Headfiers, I have been looking around at a phone/source ever since I lost my Zune a couple of years back, and saw that the Galaxy S2 was getting a lot of praise as a smart phone. However, I've seen very mixed opinions on the sound quality. Some say it sounds amazing, but some say it sounds like garbage.

The people that gave it positive reviews generally said that on the default setting it sounds awful, but one you download a few apps and eq it a bit the sound is drastically improved.

Can anyone clear this up? How can I get the Galaxy S2 to sound its best? And will it sound up to par with many other sources?

BTW, I'm probably going to get the Galaxy S2 Epic 4G if that makes any difference.

Thanks.

Yes it is not great at all!
you can hear some noise from the cpu too!!!!
if you want a phone with great sq then the galaxy s1 is unbeatable!
but you gotta some modding which called voodoo sound to get the most out of it.
look at xda forums am sure they will help you

I've been listening to the S2(T989) with poweramp for the last few weeks and I'm impressed with the sound. Ive used Sony, Cowon, and Sansa players in the past and the S2 is comparable. I didn't like the sound from the stock music player though.
