bcschmerker4
That's bcschmerker4® to you!
While searching for Songs for a possible Audition Entry for a Contest at SingSnap®, I discovered that I was getting ultrasonic noise on the Recorder IFrames' VU meters; I traced it to all analog inputs, indicating imminent hardware failure of the Creative Laboratories® SB0350 PCI 2.0 audio card (a 2003-vintage design) in my Hot Rod gPC™. The Asus® XONAR® Essence™ ST™ fails to satisfy the Hardware Mixing requirement I have due to the use of two or more inputs simultaneously at times.
The Creative Technology EMU10K1, EMU10K2, CA0100, CA0102, CA0108, CA10200-IAT, and CA10300-IAT; Motorola MC56361; Aureal AU8820 and AU8830; Yamaha YMF744; and Texas Instruments TMS320C67xx-series DSP's are acceptable under the Hardware-Mixer requirement. I also have a duplex S/P-DIF requirement. Analog sources include both +3.6VDC condenser microphones and stereo -10dBV line-level inputs, ideally using 3.5mm TRS jacks. As with the SB0350, the card is to operate in the context of drivers from the Advanced LinUX Sound Architecture Project.
What cards with decent RFI shielding are available, that satisfy the requirements listed above? And which thereof would be more favored, based on existing reviews here at Head-Fi?
