Solo Violin?

Get the Devil's Trill sonata by Tartini and just about any Sarasate music, like Zapateado, Zigeunerweisen, many others. Also Hora Staccato by Dinicu. Many of these are on a set of Michael Rabin recordings on EMI which I highly recommend; it also has all the Paganini caprices, some Ysaye pieces and many other excellent violin works.

Absolutely right, but you can get them with piano accompaniment that is very much background and designed to highlight the violin, so I suggested them in that spirit.
