The 1/4" Techflex multifilament  is too small to fit 2 Mogami W2447 cables through it unfortunately. So i was wondering if i can use the shielded Canare L4E6S inside the techflex sheath up to the splitter, then solder 1 mogami cable (without sheath) to each ear cup - would i lose any quality in sound by adding another point of contact?

I believe the Mogami is 26AWG while the Canare is 21AWG, both are copper

Thanks!

Any extra connections can sometimes be viewed as non-audiophile by the general public. However, there are hundreds if not thousands of different soldered connections in you player/dac/amp, etc... so likely to not be much different in overall sound.

If you have extra cable why not build the one you're thinking of and then make a simple Canare cable without the junction but same overall length, and then listen to the two? You can split the Canare easily and heat shrink at the "Y".
