Well, I have to say, this is the second problem I have had with administrators in 2 months on this board,  I have never had a run in on a an Internet board in 15 years anyplace else.  You may be a socialist and have no business running a board on the Internet where some countries have freedom of speech.  I understand you are from a country with a national firewall that has no problem censoring speech, but to pretend that it is immoral to make a profit is just insanity.  I don't even have any intention of selling anything.  It's just the premise that you are hiding behind false morals when it's really about your paid sponsors making money and not being undercut.  Thats fine.  I think it's great you make money, but don't be dishonest and hide behind false morals.

I still wonder why Fischer Audio is talked about in every other thread here and never on other boards.  Perhaps manipulation is just very comfortable here.  However, you might want to know that is illegal in the USA by FTC laws.

For the record, you censored another thread where I was looking for small IEMs because it said, "my girlfriend has small asian boy sized ears".  You censored that.  You can argue it was ever so slightly distasteful, but you are extremely comfortable censoring speech.  You might want to think about it before people just stop speaking here.

Enjoy your vodka, ya pinko commie bastards!

Erm, Currawong is listed as "an Australian living in Japan". Which of those 2 countries is socialist and/or has a national firewall and/or censors speech?

I'm actually a member of the Electronic Frontier Foundation, http://www.eff.org/ and started working as a carrier backbone engineer in 1992.  I've been around the field a while.  I'm also a long time ARIN and NANOG publisher.  Australia is one of the most censored countries in the world when it comes to the Internet.  Look up lawful intercept on routers.

dude chill out...
go read what happened early in this thread before making assumptions about the whole issue. its not about making profit, sales, sponsors etc...(see below)
have a look at it from another perspective.

If one flipped these would one be looking at a profit? and about how much a profit?

so here is one guy who doesn't have much info about triple.fi's and been lucky enough to be given a heads up by the community to get a great pair of iems for real cheap...so what does he want to do? screw the same forum that has helped him find a great deal and info on one of the best iems by buying more than he needs and then flipping to the same community members for profit...

Yes you would. You would also be looking at a ban if you sold it here.

Oh yea for sure I understand that, but I'm talking about selling them on ebay or something. Would that be a scummy thing to do or just good business sense?

I'm not even going to make a comment...

I think what Currawong means is we are all part of a community of people who share the same interest in audio equipment, and we're all friends here. I can't speak for everybody, but I'd be hard pressed in trying to flip a profit on a friend.

It's not about capitalism or anything, and no one is preventing someone who caught the deal from selling it for a profit somewhere else.

exactly...we are all trying to help each other find some good deals so we can enjoy this hobby.
no one is saying not to buy more than one if you need it for gifts etc. but to get it so you can flip it when there is limited amount....
see how many people missed the deal by minutes or a few hours...

Jackquelegs, I think that sums it up quite nicely: making a profit on sth like this may make good business sense, but not very good social sense.

Of course, we're all trying to make a profit--that's how we feed our families. But at the heart of this policy is a concept of fairness, and it's a little hard to argue for fairness by flipping the TF10s on a hobby forum. One could state (accurately) that the world isn't fair; the problem is that we cannot simultaneously fight for freedom (as joesuburb is attempting to) and try to plead for the acceptance of unfairness as status quo.

joesuburb: I guess I've been living under a rock to not know about the Aussie censorship situation, but I can't say the way you put forward your argument was very civil or persuasive...

I give him a lot of credit, he said what was on his mind which very few are reluctant to do so. I do feel a certain bias here.

True dat, he certainly seems honest. Still don't think the way the opinion was voiced was the best choice of words though...

Anyway, back on topic. Since there are many soon-to-be owners of the TF10, I thought folks might like to know that there are a few options for cables and tips:

I have no problem being a jerk.  I'm even good at it.  I even rather enjoy it.  But would you rather be on my side, or the side of the guy I quoted below?  Make your choice.
