I think fb2k will definitely get you where you should be in terms of reproduction and output handling. Is there a specific reason why you are trying to circumvent it?

Anyway I have of heard of VLC being able to bypass Windows mixer.

  ...
But the sound i want is Brilliant, Natural and true to life sound

Hmm... as each source music is soundwise differently produced you probably need to strat using DSP plug-ins with player you prefer most. If it is foobar2k then maybe a
VST wrapper http://www.hydrogenaud.io/forums/index.php?showtopic=84947 or http://www.yohng.com/software/foobarvst.html and some
VST plug-in(s) from KVR database - =win32&ty[]=e&f1[]=vst&pr[]=f&av[]=re]http://www.kvraudio.com/q.php?search=1&q=&os[]=win32&ty[]=e&f1[]=vst&pr[]=f&av[]=re
could help you to achieve the sound you would like to hear.

EDIT: Even properly used parametric EQ can be make wonders for the sound - some tips here @ http://www.presonus.com/community/Learn/Equalizer-Terms-and-Tips

Thanks. What kint of a VST plugin except EQ? Also the major problem with my ATH-M40 Is the narrow soundstage. It doesn't feel airy even a little and it's ruining some of the experience for classical music :frowning2:

Starnge because if we listen to a stereo recording over speakers, the left and right channel mixes.
If we do the same using a headphone the left and right of course don't mix hence stereo becomes STEREO, an extreme spatialization imho.
Anyway, you can try a cross feed.

AFAIK, ATH-M40's are designed for studio work so maybe it's the phones you need to change...?

'bout DSP filers ... it depends on what you think you would need for that perfect sound ... eq/spatial/excitier/enhancer/dynamics... just be careful when adjusting these effects .... BTW, VoxengoSPAN VST is a nice anlyzer plug-in you maybe have some use when tweaking the sound.

Is there a way to use asio4all in pc games?

It depends ...

If the game is running under windows then you culd try a common technique called virtual audio cable (VAC) but, (as I have never played games) does this bypass something (enviromental effects)?

VAC - http://vbaudio.jcedeveloppement.com/Download_CABLE/VBCABLEDriver_Pack42b.zip or demo from http://software.muzychenko.net/eng/vac.htm
ASO host - http://www.hermannseib.com/english/vsthost.htm (IIRC, you need to add one VST plug-in to get the path opened (this could be info))

- set the VAC as default system output device
- set the game use system default playback device
- set the ASIO host software take its input from VAC and set the output to use ASIO (asio4all)
