What is the best software to convert APE and FLAC back to WAV or MP3?

FooBar2000's diskwriter plugin will do that (and it'll keep the tags too!)

Thank you, I have sucessfully convert to wav and mp3.
took me a while to figure out what I need, "lame.exe" . I always thought foobar2k should have a help file to explain how to use all of its functions.

No one read manuals these days. The interface should be self documenting, just like code without comments.

I had a similar problem finding the option for the diskwriter, not to mention the options in the diskwriter tab is kinda confusing (like what does that option mean? 32 bit floats versus 16 bit integers?). I didn't even know the conversion feature was called "diskwriter".

Foobar2k web site has a FAQ, a forum, and a list of components with screen shots! Oh ok, I have to admit its kinda weak, but its better than nothing.
