unless it's a ridiculously bad recording or one of my old cd's from the 80s that's crappily mastered. then i usually go with R&B.

Off! Even using a line-out it distorts the SQ. iPod has got to be the worst EQ I've heard... my iRiver was worlds better, but then it was also parametric.

It's weird because I rarely see people using EQ's in home audio. But, in car audio, even the most minor upgrades include an eq.

Accuracy is not typically a concern for most car setups.
