Just wondering... I read all the great stuff about it, but yet I don't see its materials being featured, like what kind of cord or diaphragm it uses... I'm just wondering... I mean, the price is so high...

The filters are made of Soylent Green. And Soylent Green is made of people! People, I tell you!

Seriously, though, if you're interested, just give them a call. Etymotic Research's phone number is 1-847-228-0006. Or you could call Headroom at 1-800-828-8184 and ask to speak to Todd -- he'd probably know.

Gosh I don't believe this: http://www.fixup.net/tips/ety/ety.htm

$300+ bucks for some resistors held together by some wiring?!?

Edit: Oops that's just the cord... but still!

Um...$300 bucks would be the cost of the cord+resistors AND the phones. The phones retail for $269 and the cord $30.

Maybe the majority of the cost goes to the engineering of the etys, kinda like u pay for the brand name of other items *sony*
