I bought them from ebay and did the research later (as my usual luck goes). I was wondering if the new 2005 model is worth returning these for? I hate electronics for this exact reason...

I don't know if it is worth the hassle. I love my DT 770 Pro/80.

I was under the impression that the DT770/80 was the best sounding DT770

I'm just repeating someone else's post here, but they said if you already have the 2003 model, it's not worth replacing for the newer one. However, first-time buyers should probably get the newer one.

I just bought them off ebay too from the same seller (guitarinsider) a couple days ago and received them yesterday. I really like the old look, so I'm not worrying about the new version. They sound amazing straight out of my Sound Blaster Live! value coming from the HD570's. I might get an amp later, but right now, I couldnt be happier with my purchase.

The DT770 Pro 80's are the best DT770's, and they beat both the 250 and 32 ohm 2006 models, IMO, and I own them all.

Apparently, head-fi is making Guitarinsider's life easier. I also bought a pair of DT770/80 Pros from him off of ebay. I absolutely love them.
