I'm looking for a good optical output for my Schiit Gungnir and bryston bha-1 .
 
will this suffice ? http://www.microcenter.com/product/315743/71_USB_20_External_Sound_Box_with_Digital_Output
or should I get a somewhat decent pcie soundcard. the realtek did fine. I just don't want to waste my money because the toslink cable is going through two connections just to get through one.

does your motherboard have coaxial/rca digital out? if so you can just use that instead of optical.
