My HD-650s never leave the house.
I use the HD-595s for movies and sometimes portable use.
The Koss plugs I use when I mow the yard.
My daughter uses her portapros with her Ipod mini.
My son uses his DT-440s at college and when he's here.
I consider all of them "mine" because I occasionally like to listen to different ones for different things.
But mine aren't the high dollar ones. I can't afford that, and honestly, I don't really see a good reason for it either. But to each his own. I own four trumpets because I need four trumpets. But I'm sure most people think that's nuts.

For me the reason for owning lots of cans is gaining experience.
Currently I'm selling most of the stuff that does't get enough use.
In the end at least four sets best suited for different situations or genres will remain.

I don't plan to collect, but I do want different phones that would be ideal for different situations, and different moods. I don't see myself doing any serious listening on my HD590's - that's 3030 territory, but I won't use anything else for gaming and computer listening - and I wouldn't take them on the road either, the 001 is for that. I suppose I need an isolating phone, one for gaming if I ever do go to a tournament like QCON, which will probably be the A900, and an isolating canalphone for general on the road use, probably an ER-4P. After that, the collection should be over and done with (until I have the funds and the will to get into the serious big boys like the 010).
