Got some Senn IE4 IEMs (gottem cheap, $40--they run for $60 I think?), like them but the highs seemed shrill, so I used the iPods "treble reducer," and gave them a more smooth, dark sound in the highs, which I like. Added no distortion, at least that I can hear.

It can be used! Bullee dat.

I'm still getting used to IEMs, I'm all freaked I'll blow my ears out with an accidental brush of the volume..so I keep it lower than usual.=-i

I think most people encounter distortion when they a setting which bumps up the bass. I know that is where I encounter distortion.

I use a 5g (30mb) with some ER-4p's. I sometimes use the bass extrnder but after about a minute I turn it off and go back to none because it sounds so distorted. Lately I have used the "classical" setting with some material but I usually go back to nothing within a few minutes.

Also, the battery in these things are really bad.

Have you lowered the gain on the files?
