So how do you wipe out grain from your setups?

I own the AD900 and find its frequency response to my liking. Compared to the AD700s, vocals are more defined and more detail's exuded. All good. Besides one thing. I detect grain in the treble and mids.

I've tried it with various portable sources including the Sony X Walkman, Sansa Clip and the Samsung YP-K3.

(I could detect less grain with the Clip. Probably because the lower frequencies are emphasized a lot more than the higher ones.)

I also own the Pico amp. I'm wondering if there's any way...ANY way at all to wipe out the grain. I do not detect this grain with my UM3xs so it's safe to assume that the grain's from the phones itself and not my sources.

Thanks.

I don't think it works that way.

I think that the AD700 (and AD900) add grain by themselves.

Yes, the headphones are the culprits. I'm guessing that nothing can be done about it?
If so, then major suckaaage.
