Hi.
I have had an iPod shuffle for years (old touch-screen style). The power button is dying, and Apple doesn't sell them any more. I just bought a Sansa Clip Sport, because the form factor is perfect. Small, clips to shorts, and has expandable SD card slot.

But it's not very good... plays CD res files at best (.wav only) and mp3. The sound is so-so, the UI is just OK, and functionally it leaves a lot to be desired. But yes... inexpensive.

I would like to find a small Hi Res player... with a clip. Or one that I can find a case for... with a clip. I looked at the Shanling M1, and while the form factor is pretty good, and it can play nearly everything I would need... no clip, and no case with a clip.

Recommendations please... if it's a perfect fit, cost is secondary.

Have you checked out Rockbox availablity for that Clip? It's custom firmware.
